12 and 13 August 2017

An excellent weekend of golf played in a testing wind but our Gents and Ladies displayed terrific golf worthy of their Championship Titles.

It was a weekend for successive wins with Sandy Walker winning the Gents Championship, Doreen Tait the Bronze Championship and Robbie Muir the Junior Championship for the second successive year.

A very exciting  Ladies Championship final saw Lorna Ronnie beating Debbie Peberdy at the 20th hole.  Lorna wins the Ladies Championship for a third successive year!

Chris Auld and Minnie Hamilton reversed last year’s result in the mid handicap with Chris the 2017 winner.

In the Gents Championship Sandy Walker had superb scores of 72 and 73.  Stuart Miller and Greg Vernon shared second place.   In the Junior Championship Robbie Muir also great scores of 76 and 76 with Ross Mcdonald taking second place.

The ladies championship is match-play:
Lorna Ronnie beating Debbie Peberdy at 20th hole
Chris Auld beating Minnie Hamilton 4&3
Doreen Tait beating Shirley Morran 2 up

Adding to the drama of the weekend was an incident at the 14th during the ladies matchplay when a seagull lifted Debbie’s ball out of the bunker and placed it on top the bunker! Debbie’s trolley then took off and landed upside down in the same bunker!!
Testing time for rules official Captain Andy!

Congratulatulations to all our Champions well played and well deserved.

Thank you to the referees, trolley pullers and all who came to watch and support our Champions.
