Lady Captain’s Prizes was held on Friday 30th June when the ladies played for The Joan Hastings Trophy and Duncan Quaich. It was a great day especially after the torrential rain on Thursday! Course Manager Brian and his staff ensured both courses were in perfect condition. Thirty ladies played on Barassie Links for the Joan Hastings Trophy and thirty three played over the Hillhouse course for the Duncan Quaich.  A most enjoyable day was had by all with good fun both on and off the course, as well as serious play!

Well done to Doreen Tait who won best overall nett with a score of 75 and the winner of the Joan Hastings Trophy. Eileen Layburn won the Duncan Quaich with 15 points in a 6 hole count back from Marion McLean, Fran Hadden and Louise Wishart all on 15 points! Scratch winner was Margaret Rae. There were also Prizes for Silver and Bronze 1st-3rd.
Fran won the prize for beating the Captain’s drive and Chris Auld for beating the Vice Captain’s drive. There were also prizes for putting, nearest the pin, nearest the white line and a complimentary drink if you landed in the burn at 13 on The Links, or the front bunker at 5th on the Hillhouse.
Captain Maggie chose Alzheimer’s Scotland as her charity this year and was overwhelmed with the ladies generosity. The £600 will be donated to this very worthwhile cause along with the money raised at the Ladies Open Day, resulting in a marvellous cheque of £2000 to Alzheimer’s Scotland .
